The Canberra Raiders will be celebrating Women in League round this Sunday at GIO Stadium, when they take on the Penrith Panthers.
It’s a chance for the Raiders to thank all of the women who help make rugby league the greatest game of all, from mums through to volunteers, referees, players, staff, members and supporters.
It will be an action packed day on the field with the Raiders taking on the Panthers in the NRL and NYC, as well as girl’s rugby league and women’s touch football taking place at halftime of both the NYC and NRL matches.
The Raiders will be holding a special ‘Women in League’ luncheon in the western lounge at GIO Stadium on Sunday from 12.00pm, which will be hosted by ABC Grandstands Bronwyn Fagan, with guest speaker Rachel Friend (Media & Communication expert).

The Emeralds will be unveiling their new junior cheer squad on Sunday afternoon, while a lucky female Raiders member will have the opportunity to toss the coin pre-game as the two Captains prepare for the NRL match at 2.00pm.
There will be other give-aways on the day including the Member’s Wave for a Waves promotion to win a free car wash and FREE pink thunder sticks given to the first 5000 people through the gates.
After the match on Sunday the players will make their way into the West Lounge for the post-match presentations with members and supporters invited to attend, with the opportunity to grab signatures and photos with the players.
Member’s will continue to benefit from joining the Raiders Family in 2014 with 10% discounts on merchandise at the Jersey’s Megastore outlets at the ground and a 10% discount on food thanks to GEMA catering when they present their membership cards at the food outlets.
Member’s will also receive the Green Carpet experience as they enter the Stadium through their own special entry points and can see their names on the membership honour board in the Western forecourt.

Gates open at 11.30am, with the NYC match kicking-off at 11.45am and the main game at 2.00pm.
