Raiders forward Joel Edwards will be sidelined for four to six weeks due to a fractured cheek bone.
Edwards sustained the fracture in the club’s 42-12 win over the North Queensland Cowboys in Round 11.
Raiders NRL physiotherapist Konrad Schultz says that the fracture isn’t an overly serious one in that it doesn’t affect Edwards’ eye socket or sinuses, however it is best that Edwards get the injury fixed now despite his intent to play this weekend against the Sydney Roosters.
The 25 year old will go in for surgery today (29th May) and aim to make his return in Round 16 when the Raiders take on the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium.
