The Raiders would like to congratulate star duo Anthony Milford and Josh Papalii on gaining selection in the Queensland Maroons' 22-man squad for Game 2 of the Holden State of Origin series to be played at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on June 18.
Papalii retains his place in the squad after delivering a strong performance in the opening match of the series whilst Milford's selection is a just reward for his outstanding form this season for the Raiders.
Milford is a QAS Emerging Squad member and earlier this year Captained the Maroons Under 20's side against the Blues at Sportingbet Stadium.
“We’re taking a little bit of a different tack because of the current injury situation,” QRL Chairman Peter Betros explained.
“We normally announce 19 players but tonight because of the uncertainty over several players we’re going to announce 22 players. As the week goes on and the injury situation becomes clearer, Mal (Meninga) will finalise the team and get it down to the required number.”
