Former Dragons, NSW and Australian centre Matt Cooper previews the mouth watering clash between top class centres and former team mates Jarrod Croker and Josh Dugan.

"It will be a great clash between Dugan and Croker in the centres," Cooper enthused.

"The match-up will be very competitive because they're two of the better centres in the game and obviously because they're ex-team mates and friends off the field.

"I like seeing Josh in the centres rather than at fullback. A lot of people questioned the move mainly because of his defence but I think he's been outstanding with his defence this year for someone who hasn't played much centre before.

"I think that he's handled the transition really well. He's still got a bit of work to do but I think centre is definitely his spot. I'm looking forward to seeing how he goes against Croker."

Croker is welcoming the challenge of playing against Dugan and insists he will not be holding back against his former team mate on his first trip back to the Nation's Capital since departing unceremoniously last year.

He also encouraged the crowd not to hold back either at GIO Stadium Canberra.

"I'm sure there will be a lot of other rubbish thrown up about Dugan returning to Canberra but we've just got to worry about the fact that he's one of their better players," he said. "He's a State of Origin centre for a reason and someone that we need to look out for.

"We're still mates but hopefully the crowd gets into him on Saturday."
