To celebrate the importance of families and raise awareness of McHappy Day on the 18th of October, Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) is calling on Raiders supporters to make an #ourfamilypromise and share on Facebook and Instagram.
Canberra families can post a picture of their ‘family’ on Instagram or Facebook with a promise they intend to keep between now until McHappy Day, and share on social media using the tags, #McHappyDay and #ourfamilypromise.
Now in its 24th year, McHappy Day is the biggest fundraising event for RMHC, which supports programs and services across Australia that help seriously ill children and their families. This year’s fundraising target of $3 million equates to over 23,000 nights’ accommodation at a Ronald McDonald House for families in need.
Canberra residents will also be able to show their support for RMHC by buying, signing and displaying a Helping Hand at their local restaurant for just $1 from today, up until McHappy Day. In addition to Helping Hands, local residents can simply drop in to their local McDonald’s restaurant on McHappy Day to make a donation to RMHC or to buy a Big Mac ($2 from every Big Mac will go to RMHC).
