Canberra Raiders 2015 recruit Josh Hodgson has been selected to make his Test debut for England after Coach Steve McNamara selected the 24 year old as the side's starting hooker.

Hodgson has previously represented the England Knights on two occaisions, scoring one try. The Knights are England's second string side.

Hodgson is one of four debutants for the opening match of the 2014 Four Nations against Samoa at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Saturday October 25 (kick off 4.00pm local) alongside Wigan’s Matty Smith, Hull FC’s Joe Westerman and Castleford Tigers Daryl Clark.

Unfortunately, England Captain Sean O’Loughlin will miss the opening match of the series after he strained his quad sustained in the First Utility Super League Grand Final 11 days ago and has been unable to recover in time for the match in Queensland.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs prop James Graham will take over the captaincy  – a role he did during England’s 2010 Four Nations campaign in the southern hemisphere, when he replaced the injured Adrian Morley for the duration of that tournament.

O’Loughlin is making good recovery and is expected to figure in England’s second match against Australia in Melbourne on November 2.
