The Canberra Raiders will wind back the clock this Saturday, when they return to Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan for their trial match against the Newcastle Knights.

The famous Seiffert Oval has undertaken a facelift for the big event, with new Grand Stand seating, a new scoreboard and renovated playing surface all set to be ready for the match between the Raiders and Knights.

The Raiders began their existence in the NSWRL in 1982 and played all of their home matches at Seiffert Oval until the end of the 1989 season, before moving to Bruce in 1990 where they currently reside at GIO Stadium for all NRL home fixtures.

There will be three live matches of rugby league for fans to enjoy on the day, with the main game kicking off between the Raiders and Knights at 6.30pm.

Gates will open at 2.45pm with the first match to kick-off at 3.00pm, with the Raiders under 16’s (Harold Matthews) team playing the South Sydney Rabbitohs. This will be followed by the Raiders under 18’s (SG Ball) team against the Rabbitohs at 4.30pm.

Tickets for the match will be available at the ground*, however fans are encouraged to pre-purchase from the multiple locations (see below) to save money and ensure they don’t miss out on this historic occasion.
