Canberra Raiders Captain and keen punter Jarrod Croker has cast his eye over the field for Sunday’s Raiders pursuit race, which will happen at halftime of the Raiders v Bulldogs match at GIO Stadium and has come up with the form for each rider.

The race is taking place thanks to the Raiders major sponsor Huawei, with the funds raised from the pre-race auction on going towards Tour De Cure. The winning rider will win their winning bidder a trip to China!

The auction closes at 12.00pm on Saturday so get online now and bid!

Bill Tupou

CROKER SAYS: Has long shown Raiders fans that he has speed to burn and I think he can take what he does on two legs and convert it into some pedal power on Sunday. I’ve seen him on the bike a few times in the gym and he’s got good endurance with an ability to sprint. I think he’s a massive chance.

Jeremy Hawkins

CROKER SAYS: He led the way all pre-season with his power and strength in the gym and has some of the biggest legs in the Raiders squad. If he can get himself out to a strong start he will take some reeling in. Probably the favourite to take out the event but maybe there’s a question on whether he can go the distance. Tough to beat.

Luke Page

CROKER SAYS: Always rides his bike to training so he’s no stranger to using pedal power. If he can ride a bike like he carries the footy he’ll be definitely hard to stop and I don’t expect the brakes to get too much of a workout on the corners. He’s a real dark horse for this race and I’m tipping he’ll be right there at the finish.

Josh McCrone

CROKER SAYS: One of the most competitive blokes at the club and he hates losing. Would probably push his own mother out of the way if it meant getting the win. Will rely heavily on pre-race sledging to put off his opponents and will talk his own chances down, but deep down he thinks he will win and will race accordingly.
