Raiders star Josh Papalii has been named on an extended bench for the Queensland XXXX Maroons for State of Origin II at the MCG on June 17.

The addition of Cherry-Evans is the only change made by Maroons Coach Mal Meninga in the top 17 as his side attempts to win the series over the NSW VB Blues in Melbourne.

Melbourne Storm halfback Cronk, who kicked the match-winning field goal in the Maroons' 11-10 win over the Blues in game one, is out of action for three to four weeks with a knee injury.

Storm fullback Billy Slater missed his club side's win over Penrith on Saturday as he nurses a shoulder injury, but was named by Meninga in the No.1 jersey.

Cowboys five-eighth Michael Morgan retains his spot on the bench for Queensland.
