Raiders great Alan Tongue has backed the club to overcome their nine year hoodoo at 1300SMILES Stadium when they take on the second placed Cowboys this Saturday evening.

Tongue was a part of the last Raiders outfit to defeat the Cowboys in Townsville back in Round 12, 2006 when a Todd Carney field goal sealed a 15-14 victory. Unfortunately for the Green Machine, the side has since lost their past seven games at the venue.

Whilst Tongue concedes that whilst the trip to Townsville is one of the toughest away trips in the NRL, the 220 game Raider believes that Canberra can most definitely trump the Cowboys due to their attacking brand of football and their motivation to break into the top eight.
