After making his NRL debut on Monday night, Mitch Barnett says that he needs to keep working hard to retain his place in the top 17 for the remainder of the season.

Barnett was excellent in his NRL debut, running for 125 metres and registering 23 tackles, 3 tackle busts and 1 offload in his 53 minutes on the field.

His strong performance gave Ricky Stuart no choice but to again select the hard-working 21 year old in the starting side for the match against the Manly Sea Eagles at GIO Stadium on Sunday.
