Ashley-Jones has been extremely happy with the fitness results from pre-season training so far.

“There’s still five weeks left until the season starts but some of our early indicators are very positive. Our max aerobic speeds are up and metres per second we are also better than last year” Ashley-Jones said.

“The big change is that the bottom end of our squad, our less fit players, are now much fitter and have hit some really good targets. Some of our new recruits, Joey Leilua as one example, have really come good as well.”

“We are happier than where we were last year. The aim for the strength and conditioning department is to get better at what we do every year. The number one goal is to produce a side that has low injury rates and provides Ricky Stuart with the most options for selections. The way everything is going we are on track to achieve that this year”.
