The Canberra Raiders Under 18's SG Ball and Under 16's Harold Matthews teams start their seasons tomorrow at Raiders Belconnen.

Harold Matthews coach Adam Kyle is excited to see how his team goes in round one.

"The boys have been progressing really nicely over the pre-season. Harold Matthews is such an exciting age to coach, as every year we have a brand new squad. So for the first few weeks we really work hard with the boys on their conditioning and basic core skills," Kyle said.

"After Christmas we have been pushing more into game play and structure. We have a really exiting group of players this year and I’m really keen to see how we compete against the other quality teams in the competition.

"There are no easy games ever in this league and we need to turn up week after week with energy and the want to compete. If we can do that every week the boys will come away knowing that they have done everything they can to give their best performance. Raiders have a fantastic reputation and I know my players are humbled to be representing such a great club."
