The Ricky Stuart Respite Centre officially opens today. The centre, to be named “Ricky Stuart House”, is the first respite house based in Canberra. The centre caters for children aged five to twelve who have autism or other disabilities and is located in the suburb of Chifley. Plans are already afoot for a second centre, suitable for teenagers.

The centre will be operated by Marymead, and will provide short term respite for families with children with disability.
