Late last year the Canberra Raiders held a competition for ‘Rolling Raiders’, members who chose to have their memberships automatically renew season to season. Steve Cushing was the lucky winner of the competition and was given a prize and experience he is likely to never forget.
Steve won flights, accommodation, transfers and tickets to the 2016 Auckland Nines. The package also included tickets to the Legends Kick-Off dinner, preceding the weekend’s action, and also access onto the field for the post-tournament presentation.
“I was very surprised when I found out that I had won the competition. I was going to renew my membership anyway so to win was a bonus,” Steve said.
“My experience at the Auckland Nines was great. I thought the games were pretty fast and I enjoyed the format. Accommodation was also first rate.
“I’m very much looking forward to watching the Raiders this year. Although they didn’t make the finals last year I thought they were for the most part entertaining. I think they recruited well this year but I guess we will wait and see. Hopefully they can start winning more at home.”
