The Mounties will look to replicate last week’s strong victory over the Knights when they take on the North Sydney Bears at GIO Stadium this Saturday.

The Mounties have a new squad for 2016 and head coach Stephen Antonelli is pleased with how the side is progressing.

“We’re slowly coming together. It’s a new squad so it’ll take a few weeks before we get [to the level we want]. It’s the second week we’ve had the same halves so this week will be a little bit better again hopefully,” Antonelli said.

With both sides winning two games apiece, Antonelli knows it will be a tough match against South Sydney’s feeder club.

“They [The Bears] just keep coming so it’ll probably be the most physical game we’ve had all year so I’ve pre-warned my blokes it’ll be an 80-minute game. It’s not going to be something we’re going to win in the first fifteen [minutes].”

Antonelli is looking for further improvement from new winger Kato Ottio, after his impressive double against the Knights.

“He’s been good. He’s improving each week Kato. [I’m] just teaching him all the little things he needs to improve on. He’s keen for running and doing all the hard stuff, he just needs to work on the little things like ball security. He’ll improve again this week and I’m looking for big things from him over the next few weeks.”

The Mounties v North Sydney game kicks off at 3:10pm at GIO Stadium on Saturday and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Channel 501.
