The Raiders Harold Matthews team all but guaranteed a finals spot with a win over the Penrith Panthers on the weekend, while SG Ball went down to a classy Panthers outfit to make finals aspirations an uphill battle with one round remaining.

Canberra 30 (K Jensen 2, T Brooke, J Veloudos, K Laundress tries; K Jensen 5 goals) def Penrith 20 (Z Cini 3, M Trindall tries; D White 2 goals)

Harold Matthews put in a very strong performance in defeating the Penrith Panthers 30-20. The Raides raced out to an early lead before showing enormous resilance in withstanding a comeback from the Panthers.

The Raiders now sit sixth on the ladder, with a finals spot all but sewn up heading into the final round. The team will face the Cronulla Sharks to finish off the regular season, with the Sharks currently second on the ladder with one draw the only blemish on their record.

A Penrith Panthers outfit currently third on the ladder proved too good for the Raiders SG Ball team on Saturday.

The Raiders SG Ball team will now need to win their final match against the Cronulla Sharks and hope teams above them lose to have any chance of making the finals.
