The regular season of the Harold Matthews and SG Ball competitions comes to a finish this weekend, with both Raiders teams in action at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday.

Harold Matthews will come into their match against the Sharks full of confidence, after a strong victory over Penrith Panthers last weekend. Harold Matthews are currently sixth on the ladder, with the Sharks sitting in a second with a draw the only blemish on their record.

"We started really well last weekend against Penrith, racing to an early but hard fought lead at half time. We talked all week about trying to trade sets with these good teams in the competition," Head coach Adam Kyle.

"On Saturday we did that really well only making 4 errors in the game. Our defence still needs a lot of work after conceding 20 points again. We set some standards at the start of the season around defence and we are always striving to live up to them."

This weekend gives us another chance to play one of the form teams in the league in Cronulla. They are last year’s premiers and are undefeated in 2016."

We will be looking to continue build on our performances, we are always working to perform better as a team and work on our game rather than focusing too much on opposition."

Cronulla are an outstanding team who we played in a trial earlier in 2016 and was a really close game, so I’m expecting them to come out and look to dominate in the lead up to the finals."

The Raiders Harold Matthews team are all but assured of a finals positon, but will still be hoping for a win to carry valuable momentum into the finals.

A Penrith Panthers outfit currently third on the ladder proved too good for the Raiders SG Ball team on Saturday.

The Raiders SG Ball side will return to Raiders Belconnen for the final round of the competition on Saturday, facing a finals-bound Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks outfit.

Currently sitting two points out of the top eight in tenth, the contest shapes up as a must-win for the Green Machine. Should the Roosters and Tigers both fall short in their matches, the Raiders will sneak into eighth position and secure a finals berth.
