Both Queanbeyan teams, West Belconnen and the Tuggeranong Bushrangers enjoyed solid wins in round four of the Austbrokers Canberra Raiders Cup.

Tuggeranong Bushrangers (8) 40 defeated Yass Magpies (4) 24

Tuggeranong picked up their first win of the 2016 season after beating the Yass Magpies 40-24.

A clinical display by Matt Lyons saw him cross over the line 3 times for the Bushrangers in the 16 point victory.

Yass' defence was poor and let them down in the important moments of the match, conceding 8 tries against them.

Tuggeranong were too dominate and Yass could not manage to fight themselves back into the game in the later stages.

Tuggeranong will look to get their first back to back wins of the season when they take on Woden Valley Rams this weekend.

West Belconnen Warriors (6) 34 defeated Woden Valley Rams (1) 6

West Belconnen is back in winning form following an impressive 34-6 win over Woden on the weekend.

After the team’s first loss for the season last weekend, coach Tory Thompson wanted to see a stronger defensive from his team.

The team reacted to the loss, keeping Woden to just one try in the whole game.

West Belconnen have the bye this weekend in preparation for their game against Tuggeranong Bushrangers on May 14th.

Queanbeyan Kangaroos (6) 32 defeated Goulburn Workers Bulldogs (0) 0

Queanbeyan Kangaroos have thumped the Goulburn Workers Bulldogs 32-0.

The Bushrangers put on a clinical performance that Goulburn could not match throughout the game.

Queanbeyan dominated in both attack and defense with Adam Pearce crossing for two tries.

Goulburn have been not been able to get a win on the board since their round one victory over Tuggeranong, and will be seeking a big improvement in next weekend's game against the Gungahlin Bulls.

Queanbeyan has now moved to 4th on the ladder ahead of their clash with last place Belconnen United in round five.

Queanbeyan Blues (9) 48 defeated Belconnen United Sharks (4) 20

Queanbeyan Blues continued their undefeated season with another big victory, this time coming in a 48-20 win against the Belconnen United Sharks.

The Blues team was lethal in attack and also displayed a solid defensive effort against the Sharks which showed why they are the current ladder leaders.

The Sharks defence in the game was poor, and was ultimately the difference between the two sides.

The Sharks remains winless so far this season, but are looking to turn things around this weekend when they take on Queanbeyan Kangaroos.
