After four weeks the Canberra Raiders finally return to GIO Stadium for a crucial encounter with the Newcastle Knights on Sunday. Currently sitting in seventh place on the ladder the Raiders have a golden opportunity to move higher with a win over the tenacious Knights.
GIO Stadium will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland for the occasion, with a snowboard machine, snow globe and face painting.
The members lounge in the West Grandstand will be the perfect place to retreat and relax before and during the game. There will be free hot chocolate and finger food on arrival to the lounge and also free games including pool and table tennis.
The Raiders everlasting mascot Victor the Viking (Tony Wood) will also be celebrating his 600th game cheering on the Raiders! There will be Victor masks being handed out and a display of all of Victor’s old costumes in the members lounge.
Make sure you stay around after the match as fans are invited to join the players on the field following the completion of the NRL game (once instructed by the ground announcer). This has been possible thanks to support from ActewAGL and GIO Stadium.
