What an incredible game that was last week?

If you ever wanted an example to typify just what it is to be a Raiders fan, look no further than the win against the Warriors.

There were periods of Warriors dominance where they failed to register anything bar a solo try. It was a period of Raiders grit and defiance. A true testament to the 2016 season.

Then there were periods of Raiders dominance. The Warriors were made to look slow, lethargic and unable to match the attacking flair the green machine possesses.

Then came the entry of Tuimoala Lolohea for the Warriors. Immediately the momentum reversed and the Raiders were suddenly on the back foot.

A couple of quick tries to the men from New Zealand and Raiders fans were suddenly nervous. Very nervous. But surely the Warriors couldn’t push the game to golden point, could they?

Uh oh, yes they could. The unlosable game was suddenly very losable!

But no worries. The Raiders boys again dug deep, and captain courageous sealed the deal with a fantastic golden point try!

It was a game of ups and downs, that ended on a wonderful upturn and a top 4 NRL position.

And that’s been the story of the season. While there hasn’t been a complete 80 minute performance, the boys have shown that when they play, they can outplay anyone in the competition.

As a fan, it’s great to have that confidence in the team, and the prospect of a performance that meets the boys’ potential is a truly mouth-watering proposition.

It would just be nice if Raiders fans’ hearts could have a rest for just one weekend.

Hopefully that weekend is this weekend when the Raiders take on the down and out South Sydney Rabbitohs.

It’s no secret the bunnies aren’t in the best form but it won’t make them an easy proposition.

There’s been plenty of negative press about them, particularly the Burgess boys, and there’s no more dangerous footballer than a maligned footballer.

Anyone who isn’t sure what the Burgesses are capable of has a short memory. Sam in particular has the potential to be an absolute game breaker and it’ll be important to keep him quiet.

This weekend is not the time to allow him and his mates to find form.

The mighty Raiders have finally worked their way into the top 4 and it’s not time to let go. Every competition point from here on in is absolutely vital.

It’s time to ride a wave of momentum to the finals Raiders fans, and that wave continues to build this weekend.

Get to the game this Sunday if you can, and if not, find a comfortable place to cheer the boys on.

Big things are on their way for the men from the nation’s capital. This isn’t something you’ll want to miss. Up the Raiders!!!

FIVE THINGS WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE AT RAIDERS V RABBITOHS
