NRL Premiership - Round 01 - Melbourne Storm V St George Dragons - 07 March 2016 - AAMI Park, Melbourne, Vic - Ian Knight

The Canberra Raiders can confirm former Dragons forward Dunamis Lui will join the club on a two year deal commencing in 2017.

Lui made his NRL debut in 2010 for Brisbane and has played 80 NRL matches for the Broncos, Sea Eagles and Dragons.

The Raiders have also confirmed the signing of forward Makahesi Makatoa from the Bulldogs on a one year deal for the 2017 season.

After finishing the 2016 season training in Canberra with the NRL squad, both Scott Sorenson and Brent Naden will continue with the NRL squad in 2017 and will be joined by Mounties team mate Eddie Aiono.

This continues the strong relationship between the Raiders and Mounties, which saw Clay Priest become the first Mounties player to play NRL for the Raiders. Priest went on to play 14 matches for the Raiders in 2016 and win the club’s rookie of the year award.

With five players currently on duty for the four nation’s tournament, the Raiders will begin the pre-season with an extended squad including some former Raiders NYC players and Mounties contracted players for the start of pre-season training on November 21.
