Michael Oldfield admits he is humbled to have been given a chance by Ricky Stuart and the Canberra Raiders.

"I'm very excited and humbled, it's always a pleasure to play first grade, it's a real honour and I'm looking forward to my chance on Saturday," Oldfield said.

In the absence of Jordan Rapana who is serving a one game suspension, Oldfield is excited to line up alongside Joey Leilua and strike up a Leifield partnership.

"Ive got big shoes to fill in Rapa's absence but ill just go out there and play my game and hopefully my combination with BJ Leilua will be fine."

"I have to be ready for anything, Joey is a great play who can do anything so ill be ready."
