Raiders hooker Josh Hodgson is looking forward to playing in front of a vocal home crowd this Sunday when the Raiders take on the Panthers at GIO Stadium.

"We're looking to back up our recent performances this week against a Panthers side that can be really difficult to deal with but it's going to be a great atmosphere in Canberra this weekend," Hodgson said.

"The game in Bathurst earlier this year against Penrith was a strange one, we didnt play our best but we felt we were in control until the end, we've improved a lot since then."

Hodgson believes that the amount of tight games that the Raiders have faced this season will only serve them better over time as vital experience.

"We needed to work on our composure during the year, we showed a bit of that against the Sharks when Josh Papalii went to the sin bin and we were able to post six points in that period."
