Having had their premiership dreams crushed by the West Belconnen Warriors last year, the Queanbeyan Kangaroos will be looking to make amends with a grand final win against the Queanbeyan Blues.

Helping the Roos’ cause will be the likely return of Les McIntyre Medalist, Brent Crisp after the playmaker had been away in Darwin for work.

Despite the uncertainty of the situation, Roos captain-coach expects his star player to be at Seiffert Oval on Sunday afternoon.

“His flight is booked,” Gorrell said. “I’m confident he’ll be there but I’m confident that if he’s not, we have 17 blokes that’ll come up with the goods.”

Standing in the Kangaroos’ path is the Blues who will be gunning for their third premiership in four years.

Having gone through the first 14 rounds undefeated, the Blues suffered three consecutive losses including a massive loss at the hands of the Kangaroos.

However, the Blues roared back into form last weekend against the Yass Magpies and Blues center, Tyler Stevens, says his side aren’t focusing on their most recent loss.

“For us, that game is now irrelevant,” Stevens said. “That was a mishap on us and it just got a little away from us so I think it will be a different story come Sunday.”

In other grades on Sunday, the Queanbeyan Blues have sides in the Reserve Grade and the Katrina Fanning Shield as they take on the West Belconnen Warriors and Goulburn Stockmen respectively.

Meanwhile, the Goulburn Workers Bulldogs will be fighting for the Ladies League Tag and U18s premierships as they take on West Belconnen and the Woden Valley Rams.
