Elliott Whitehead capped off a terrific year in 2017 as he was awarded the Meninga Medal Coaches award from Ricky Stuart.
The English international was shocked when his name was announced.
"I didn't expect to be taking out an award tonight and then Rick called my name out which was a big surprise," Whitehead said.
"It's a great honour to receive this award off Ricky (Stuart), he gave me a chance to come over here to the NRL from England and now I feel like I have done him proud."
