Blake Austin was a constant presence in the halves for the green machine in 2017.

Averaging 160.2 kick return metres in 2017 the former Tigers and Panthers five-eighth was key to the Raiders attack.

After an injury plagued 2016 season, this year was more fruitful for Austin from a personal point of view as he was able to play in every match for the green machine.

The five-eighth exhibited his offloading abilities as he conjured up 18 for the year.

Austin contributed with seven tries for the green machine as well as eight try assists.

One of Austin’s finest games in 2017 came in the Raiders impressive win against the Warriors in Auckland where he managed to rack up a try and an assist as well as a line break in the 36-16 win.

In total, the former Doonside Roos junior amassed over 3845 kick return metres for Canberra.

Austin and his teammates will be looking for a big improvement in 2018 and will enjoy a break during the off season as he recharges himself for what is expected to be a big pre-season.
