Vale Gerry Edwards

The Canberra Raiders are saddened by the recent passing of Canberra Raiders Life Member Gerry Edwards (left).

Gerry passed away on 18 February 2018 after an illness and will be sorely missed.

Gerry played an integral role in the development of rugby league in the ACT and Region over many years as he served the local ACT Rugby League as one of the two driving forces along with Don Elphick.

When the Raiders were formed in 1982, Gerry was an original member of the Canberra Raiders board alongside founding father, Les McIntyre.

Gerry also served as a board member of the ACT Rugby Leagues Club and more recently was a board member of the Mawson Club and the Canberra District Rugby League board, representing the Canberra Region Junior Rugby League.

A moments silence will be held at the Raiders first home game against the Knights in honour of Gerry.
