Match of the Round
Woden Valley Rams vs Yass Magpies- 3pm, Sunday 22 April- Phillip District / Live Stream

This week’s match of the round sees the Woden Valley Rams face the Yass Magpies, with both sides coming off wins in Round 2.

The Rams will be full of confidence after a big win over the competition favourites, the Queanbeyan Kangaroos, but Rams Co-Captain, Steve Ferry, knows that the Rams can’t get carried away after just one win.

“Beating the ‘Roos is a good thing but if we’re to drop a game this week or the following week it means nothing. To beat one team is nothing, you need to be consistent,” Ferry said.

They face a tough opponent in the Magpies who are coming off an impressive win of their own, beating the Belconnen United Sharks 22-18.

Yass Coach, Jarrad Teka, spoke of his sides’ resilience in defence last week.

“They were all over us at the start, we had to dig our heels in and come away with some good defensive efforts,” Teka said.

Belconnen United Sharks vs Queanbeyan Blues- 3pm, Saturday 21 April- O’Connor / Live Stream

The Queanbeyan Blues head into this clash after being thrashed 40-0 by the West Belconnen Warriors last week.

They’ll be hoping to get their season back on track after being humbled at their home ground and will be boosted by the return of Captain-Coach Terry Campese.

Their opposition, the Belconnen United Sharks, remain winless after starting the season with two narrow losses.

The nature of their losses can give the Sharks hope of securing their first win of 2018 while the Blues will no doubt be looking to bounce back after suffering such a large defeat last week.

Goulburn Workers Bulldogs vs Tuggeranong Bushrangers- 3pm, Saturday 21 April- Workers Arena

Both these sides have made the perfect start to the season, with neither suffering a defeat through the first two weeks.

Goulburn Workers scored 26 unanswered points last week to beat the Gungahlin Bulls at GIO Stadium after beating the Sharks the week before.

Meanwhile, the Bushrangers had the bye last week after a comfortable win over the Rams in Round 1.

Raiders v Rabbitohs - Round 7

West Belconnen Warriors vs Gungahlin Bulls- 3pm, Sunday 22 April- Raiders Belconnen

So far so good for the West Belconnen Warriors, with a 40-0 win coming from their first game in 2018.

The Warriors sit top of the ladder after claiming two competition points from the bye and then another two after thrashing the Blues at Seiffert Oval.

It’s a different story for the Bulls who are still searching for their first win.

Having been up 8-0 against Goulburn Workers the Bulls conceded 26 points and will no doubt be looking for an 80-minute performance this week.
