Round 11 of the Austbrokers Canberra Raiders Cup is headlined by the West Belconnen Warriors taking on the Queanbeyan Blues.
West Belconnen Warriors v Queanbeyan Blues – 3pm, Saturday, June 23, Raiders Belconnen / Live Stream
The second-placed Warriors host the fourth-placed Blues in our Match of the Round this Saturday.
Both sides will want to return to winning ways after the West Belconnen Warriors lost their last match in convincing fashion to the Queanbeyan Kangaroos, while the Blues have lost their last two fixtures.
Blues assistant coach Adam Lenihan says his side will want to make amends for their 40 point defeat to the Warriors in Round 2.
"It's probably a desperate match for both sides," Lenihan said. "They got us pretty easily in Round 2 so we'll be looking to rectify that and get one back on them."
Warriors lock Matt Kelly is expecting a tough encounter against the defending premiers.
"They'll be looking to prove themselves and so are we," Kelly said. "It should be a really good game and hopefully we can get the win."
Belconnen United Sharks v Yass Magpies – 3pm, Saturday, June 23, O'Connor
The Yass Magpies enter this match knowing that a win could see them jump into the top four for the first time this season.
Standing in their way will be a Belconnen outfit that have proven a handful for their opponents recently and took the Magpies all the way in Round 2 before eventually losing 22-18.
Having beaten the West Belconnen Warriors and Queanbeyan Blues in recent weeks, the Magpies enter the match full of confidence with the bonus of welcoming back their co-captain Jacob Toppin from a three match suspension.
Queanbeyan Kangaroos v Woden Valley Rams – 3pm, Saturday, June 23, Seears Workwear Oval
Two of the in-form sides in the competition lock horns at Seears Workwear Oval in what is set to be an intriguing fixture.
The Rams claimed an upset victory in the corresponding match earlier this season and will be hoping to do so again as they attempt to remain in the finals equation. If results fall their way, Woden could climb as high as sixth.
The Queanbeyan Kangaroos, on the other hand, will be focused on building momentum after impressive victories over the Warriors and Bulls.
The Roos have the best attack in the competition and have scored more than 40 points in three of their last four matches.
Gungahlin Bulls v Goulburn Workers Bulldogs – 3pm, Saturday, June 23, Gungahlin Enclosed Oval
The Goulburn Workers Bulldogs claimed their first win since Round 2 last weekend and will be looking to build upon their performance to maintain their slim finals chances.
The Bulldogs remain six points adrift of the top four and will need to win a majority of their matches if they are to make a first finals appearance since the 2015 Grand Final.
Gungahlin have only one victory to their name this season and will be searching for consistency after losing to the Bulldogs at GIO Stadium earlier this season.
