Round 16 was full of drama as the Queanbeyan Blues snapped their winless streak, Gungahlin upset Tuggeranong and the Yass Magpies kept their season alive in dramatic circumstances.
Yass Magpies 16 (Tries: T Warner, B Warner J Vatikani; Goals: S Davis 2) d West Belconnen Warriors 12 (Tries: L Afa, J McDonnell; Goals: L Keeley 2)
A last minute try to Junior Vatikani saw the Yass Magpies defeat the West Belconnen Warriors to keep their season alive.
After a tight start to the match, Tom Warner barged over the line before Benny Warner did the same in the second half.
However, the Warriors fought their way back into the match as Livingstone Afa score before Jock McDonnell planted the ball in the corner.
Lachlan Keeley converted from the sidelines to lock the scores up at 12-12 before Vatikani broke the deadlock in dramatic circumstances.
The center received a cut out pass from Chris Rawlinson before passing back in-field to Steve Naughton who drew the defenders before passing back to Vatikani who scored in the corner.
The loss sees the Warriors drop to fourth place, having won only one match in their last four games. Yass currently sit two competition points behind them in fifth place.
Gungahlin Bulls 22 (Tries: M Ravalawa 2, T Sherd, J Scholes; Goals: J Scholes 3) d Tuggeranong Bushrangers 12 (Tries: N Vanisi, L Tuicakau; Goals: J Mitchell, M Picker)
The Gungahlin Bulls have claimed arguably the biggest upset of the season as they defeated the Tuggeranong Bushrangers 22-12 at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval.
It looked like it would be Tuggeranong's afternoon as they started brightly and powered over the line through Noa Vanisi.
However, from that moment onwards, Gungahlin dug in their heels to prevent Tuggeranong from scoring again until the dying moments of the match.
Gungahlin hit back midway through the half as a good ball from Jayleel Faamoe Iaone found the hands of Todd Sherd via Mikaele Ravalawa.
Tuggeranong looked to have scored at the end of the half but a forward pass was ruled in the process as the teams went into the sheds with the Bushrangers leading 6-4.
The second half was all Gungahlin's as they took the lead through Mikaele Ravalawa before Jake Scholes crossed after collecting a Willie Raston offload.
Tuggeranong continued to push for points but solid defence from Gungahlin and poor ball security meant that the Bushrangers couldn't make inroads.
Ravalawa broke through the Tuggeranong line to score a long-range try and give the Bulls a comfortable 22-6 lead.
Tuggeranong hit back through Livinai Tuicakau with five minutes to go but it wasn't enough as Gungahlin secured a memorable win.

The Queanbeyan Blues have snapped their seven match winless streak with a comprehensive win over the Goulburn Workers Bulldogs.
Youngsters Tristan Eldridge and Jordan Williams both scored doubles and it was the two playmakers that combined for the opening try of the match.
Jake Stein doubled the lead after being sent through a gap by Terry Campese before young Goulburn hooker Angus Marshall pegged one back for the Bulldogs.
Josh Stuckey continued his rich try scoring form before Francis Fainifo crossed in the corner to give the Blues a 22-6 lead at the break.
Eldridge and Williams continued to run amuck in the second half as the Blues continued to build upon the form they showed in last week's Queanbeyan derby.
Goulburn's Connor Brebner scored a late consolation try but the Blues ran out convincing 44-12 winners.
Queanbeyan Kangaroos 34 (Tries: Josh Ayers 2, D Hay 2, R Tuckwell, J Baxter; Goals: B Crisp 5) d Belconnen United Sharks 6 (Try: J Brown; Goal: A McDonald)
The Kangaroos moved within one point of top spot after a 34-6 win over the Belconnen United Sharks.
Josh Ayers opened the scoring after receiving an offload from Derek Hay but the Sharks levelled the scores before halftime as Jason Brown scored.
However, the second half was a different story as the Kangaroos gained the ascendency as Hay scored his first for the afternoon before Jayden Baxter barged over.
Hay grabbed his second shortly afterwards before setting up a further two tries.
The halfback sent Ayers through for his second before a pinpoint kick landed into the hands of Ryan Tuckwell who scored.
