It was a victory to savour on Sunday afternoon as the green machine held firm to hold off a fast finishing Roosters side.

With the Raiders missing several key players they put in a complete performance to defeat the side from Sydney's Eastern suburbs who were almost at full strength.

For the duration of the contest the possession was evenly split at 50%. Jordan Rapana scored an early try for the Raiders while Boyd Cordner and Victor Radley scored for the Roosters. Sam Williams kicked four penalty goals to put the scoreboard in favour of the home side.

The green machine was highlighted for their fantastic completion rate in the match as they finished the first half completing 19/19 of their sets (100%). Overall, they ended up with a 94% rate (34/36).

The visitors were able to complete more running metres than the home side as they finished up with 1706 running metres from 173 runs. The home side completed 1536 running metres from 156 runs.

Offloads were relatively evenly split with the Sydney side coming out on top with six compared to five.

They also achieved more line-breaks with three compared to Canberra's one.

Trent Robinson's men were busy in defence as they made 34 tackles with only 26 missed. Stuart's side completed 333 tackles while only missing 36.

Many will believe that Robinson's men were left to rue the amount of errors made on the day as they ended up with nine as well as conceding ten penalties. Stuart's side were professional throughout the day and only made four errors while conceding eight penalties.
