Josh Papalii named Fan’s best in 2018

Canberra Raiders forward Josh Papalii has been judged to be the Raiders best in 2018, through the weekly fan vote competition on www.raiders.com.au

Each round this season, Raiders fans were given the opportunity to vote on their man of the match through the club's digital channels, with three players polling points each week on a 3-2-1 basis.

At the end of the season Papalii came out on top with 20 points, including five man of the match performances. His closest rival was Joe Tapine who polled 15 votes over the course of the season.

Third place went to Elliott Whitehead who scored a total of 14 votes in 2018.

The top three finished in the same order as the 2018 Meninga Medal Tally, where Papalii took out this year's award ahead of Tapine and Whitehead.

Papalii said it was wonderful to receive recognition from the club's fans and thanked all of the club's members and supporters for the season.

"It's always very humbling to win awards but to be voted the teams best player for the year by the people who watch us every week is a great honour," Papalii said. "We really do appreciate the support we get from the members and fans and can't wait to get back and start preparing for 2019.
