Brad Abbey had just one day to prepare for his Canberra Raiders debut against the Brisbane Broncos in front of a boisterous Suncorp Stadium crowd.

The versatile back came into the side for Jack Wighton and put in an impressive display at fullback.

Abbey averaged 81 running metres per game for the year as well as 24 post contact metres per run.

Abbey's sole try for the year came against the Cronulla Sharks controversial 28-24 win at Southern Cross Group Stadium in July.
