2018 season review: Shannon Boyd
The barnstorming Raiders prop enjoyed a solid year as he played consistently throughout the 2018 season.
The Cowra Magpies junior played in every match for the green machine until he suffered a calf injury in the green machine's come from behind 32-28 win over the Bulldogs at Belmore Sports Ground.
Boyd averaged over 94 running metres per game in 2018 to coincide with an average of 42 post contact metres.
Shannon's best two performances in 2018 ironically came against the Gold Coast Titans, the team he will join in 2019. In round one at CBUS Super Stadium, Boyd clocked up 146 running metres which was his highest in any game of 2018. From those numbers, 63 were post contact metres.
When the green machine faced the Titans in round nine at GIO Stadium Boyd was once again damaging as he put in a commanding second half performance conjuring up 142 running metres to go along with his sole try in 2018.
The Raiders' round 23 win against the eventual premiers the Sydney Roosters was another strong showing from Boyd who posted 125 running metres (64 post contact) as well as making 34 tackles during the contest.
In 2019 Boyd will depart the Club for the Gold Coast Titans. The Raiders would like to wish Shannon and his family all the best.
