Michael Oldfield has had to wait patiently for his chance and when it came along he took it with both arms.

The versatile outside back made his first appearance of the 2018 season in the Raiders Round 5 win over the Bulldogs at GIO Stadium however he failed to complete the full match as he sustained a head injury and failed a HIA test during the first half.

Consistent performances for Mounties in the Intrust Super Premiership followed for Oldfield and he was given a second chance at NRL level for the green machine's Round 15 clash against the Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium. Oldfield scored a try as the Raiders tamed the joint venture side 48-12.

Oldfield's most memorable moment came in the Round 18 clash against the Cowboys at GIO Stadium where Oldfield scored a hat-trick. One of those tries was an 80 metre run-away which brought the Canberra faithful to their feet.

2018 season statistics:
Games: 8
Tries: 6

Tackle breaks: 12
Running metres (average): 115
Post contact metres (average): 42
