Canberra Raiders Captain Josh Hodgson has admitted that he is incredibly honoured to be named as Captain of the Canberra Raiders for the 2019 season alongside Jarrod Croker.

Speaking to the media this morning at Raiders HQ, the England international is excited for the challenge ahead.

"It's something that I've really enjoyed and for me to be named Captain alongside 'Tootes' (Croker), is a massive honour for me," Hodgson said.

Hodgson spent the back half of the season as Captain of the team in the absence of Croker.

"This Club has got so much history of lots of potential and it will be our job to make sure we can get the most out of this team for the coming season."

"We've got a lot of promising young talent here at this Club and I'm looking forward to helping out a lot of them further develop their potential."

"Obviously I'm going to learn a few things along the way but the challenge is something I'm looking forward to."
