Fresh from a big Round 1 win in Western Australia, the Raiders Under 18’s side played their first home fixture and started brightly against Balmain.
Early tries to Cooper O’Connor and Harry Fitzpatrick gave the Raiders an early 8-0 lead before the Tigers started clawing back at the score.
Jack Williams gave the Raiders the lead at halftime after scoring under the posts but Balmain returned from the halftime break with intent as they piled on the points to claim a 44-16 win.

The Under 16’s side claimed their first win of the season with a tense win over the Balmain Tigers.
An early try to James Dyball gave the Raiders an early lead before the Tigers scored an unconverted try to ensure the Raiders had a 6-4 lead at the break.
The second half continued to be tight as the teams traded tries before Utuloa Asomua scored to seal the win.

The Raiders fought hard against the Knights before succumbing to a 22 point loss at Raiders Belconnen.
The Under 18 girls will face the Indigenous Academy next weekend at Mascot Oval as they chase their first win of the campaign.
