It was a nail-biting finish for the green machine on Sunday afternoon in front of 17,193 fans at GIO Stadium.

The home side enjoyed 48% of possession with the footy while also managing to complete 28/35 sets for an 80% completion rate. The visitors were impressive as they completed 32/38 of their sets for a rate of 84%.

Ricky Stuart’s side mustered up a total of 1508 running metres from 171 runs while Anthony Seibold’s side made 1590 metres from 179 runs.

In attack, the Raiders completed nine offloads and four linebreaks while the Broncos conjured up seven offloads and five linebreaks.

The green machine was by far the busier in defence as they made a total of 373 tackles while their opponents made 322. The Raiders missed only 21 tackles while the Broncos missed 25.

Overall the Raiders conceded seven penalties while the Broncos conceded six. The home side also made six errors while the visitors made seven.

Individual statistics:

Plenty of men in green clocked up to a number of running metres with Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad making 199. Nick Cotric was next with 147 while Josh Papalii registered 131.

Joey Leilua was destructive as he scored two tries as well as making two line breaks and six tackle breaks.

John Bateman continued to show why he’s world class with his first try in green while also contributing with one try assist, one line break, and three tackle breaks.

Josh Hodgson contributed with the most tackles for the Raiders with 51 while his international teammate John Bateman was just behind on 50. Josh Papalii was the next best on 40.
