The Raiders are taking their round eight home match against the Panthers to Wagga Wagga this weekend, when they play at 3.00pm on Saturday at McDonald’s Park.

Tickets for this match are no longer available online. You can purchase tickets at the following places until 5.00pm on Friday (May 3).

Match Day Charity – Clontarf Foundation

The Clontarf Foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, life-skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and by doing so equips them to participate meaningfully in society.

Clontarf Foundation volunteers will be collecting donations around the grounds at the game.

Clontarf Foundation kids will also be assisting with the on-field activations and participating in the first half guard of honour.

Viking Clap

The Viking Clap is heading to Wagga Wagga, and will take place at McDonald’s Park prior to kick-off, so make sure you’re ready to go as the team prepares to take the field!

This week’s Viking Ambassador is Raider #111 David Barnhill. Barnhill played  40 matches for the club from 1989 to 1991 including the 1990 Grand Final win over the Panthers.

Due to the configuration of McDonald’s Park in Wagga Wagga, there will be no members lounge this weekend. The Members lounge will return for the Raiders next home match at GIO Stadium.

Pre-Game Entertainment

Gates open at 12.30pm, with the Raiders Jersey Flegg team taking on the Panthers at 12.45pm.

This week’s McDonald’s Match Day performance will be performed by Wagga Wagga based dance studio A-Live Performing Arts Centre, who will perform on-field around 30 minutes prior to kick-off.

Cam and Ben will then take you through all of the game day news and updates thanks to Channel Nine before kick-off, including an interview with Viking Ambassador David Barnhill, before the Viking Clap.

Halftime Entertainment

Huawei Hot Seat

The Huawei Hot Seat is on each home match, with one lucky fan having the chance to win a brand-new Huawei Handset! One lucky attendee will be announced at halftime, so make sure you’re listening for your name.

Huawei Mini Footy

At half-time of the NRL game, four local under 8’s rugby league teams will be playing a modified version of Rugby League on-field. After the games finish, the teams will create the guard of honour for the second half team run on. The participating teams are: Junee Diesels, Wagga Magpies, Wagga Kangaroos Red and Wagga Brothers.

Coca-Cola Sing to win

Coca-Cola Sing to Win is back bigger and better in 2019, with fans attending the match having the chance to win a $250 Raiders Shop voucher, by signing along to the song of the day using a Coca-Cola product as a microphone. This will happen at halftime this week.

McDonald’s Powerplay

The McDonalds Powerplay is going to Wagga Wagga. If it doesn’t go off in the first half, the team will get another crack during the second half to score and win for the fans attending!

With the match in Wagga Wagga we’ve extended the participating regular ACT Region stores to include Gundagai, Leeton, Temora, Tumut, Wagga East, Wagga Glenfield, Wagga Kooringal, Wagga Wagga, Yass.  

If successful, all you need to do is show your match day ticket at one of the participating stores.

Canberra Airport Homes for Homes Points for Cash

Canberra Airport will donate $100 for each pint scored to the Homes for Homes charity.

ActewAGL SMS Man of the Match

This season fans  have the opportunity to vote on the man of the match each week thanks to ActewAGL. Keep an eye out on the big screen on match day and you can vote and possibly win a $100 voucher thanks to Sportsman’s Warehouse.

Post-Match – Fans on the field

Following the match, a second siren will sound 10 minutes after fulltime, where fans can come onto the field, kick a footy and meet Raiders players.

Please follow the ground announcer instructions on match day.

Food and Beverage

There will be several food and beverage outlets located at the venue on both sides of the ground.

Menu items include:

Steak sandwiches, Sausage Sandwiches, Chips, Gravy & onion, Hot Dogs, Pies, Sausage Rolls, Soft Drinks, Lollies, Chips (Packets)

There will also be two coffee vans and two ice-cream vans.

There will be four bars selling CUB mid-strength beers and spirits (18+ Only)

Getting to McDonalds Park

There will be no public transport running to the venue on game day. There will be free buses available post-match which will take patrons back into the city centre to Bolton Park.

Parking

Parking is available at McDonald’s park, with a gold coin donation to Rotary. Please see parking map below. Entry is via Copland St. Carpooling is encouraged as many patrons are expected on game day.

Advised McDonalds Park ATM facilities

Please note there are no EFTPOS or ATM facilities available at McDonalds Park. Patrons must bring cash to purchase food/beverages on the day.
