Woden come back to snap Tuggeranong's perfect start

The Woden Valley Rams have won the Grand Final rematch as a strong second half saw them defeat the Tuggeranong Bushranger 26-18 at Greenway Oval.

The Rams took the lead when Tyson Hodge barged his way over the line. However, Tuggeranong hit back as Connor Massen continued his good try scoring form with a try out wide.

The Bushrangers continued to dominate possession and field position and took a 12-6 lead into the break when Josh Baker scored. The second rower was a beneficiary of an excellent set play as the Bushrangers shaped to attack down the right before Michael Brophy changed direction and linked up with Baker.

The Bushrangers continued their try scoring form when Jarrad Kennedy scored three minutes after the break.

Caleb Malisausakas and Michael Geiger both scored out wide as the Rams closed in on the Bushrangers but two missed conversions from Lincoln Withers meant that Tuggeranong held a four point lead.

In the dying moments of the match the Rams took the lead when Mitch Souter poked through the line before passing to Steve Ferry who scored as he collided with the posts.

Daine Spencer put the icing on the cake for the Rams right on full time as Woden claimed their fourth consecutive win against their rivals.

Woden Valley Rams 26 (Tries: T Hodge, C Malisauskas, M Geiger, S Ferry, D Spencer; Goals: L Withers 3) d Tuggeranong Bushrangers 8 (Tries: C Massen, J Baker, J Kennedy; Goals: J Mitchell 3)
