It was a tough afternoon for the Raiders as they were narrowly defeated 22-16 by the North Queensland Cowboys.

Possession was almost evenly split with Raiders having 49% of the ball.

Ricky Stuart’s side completed 31/38 of their sets for a completion rate of 82% while Paul Green’s side completed 31/37 sets for a rate of 84%.

The Raiders ran for 1498 running metres from 176 runs while the Cowboys conjured up a total of 1744 metres from 184 runs.

Both sides were evenly split with seven offloads each as well as three line breaks.

The Cowboys were slightly busier in defence as they made 334 tackles while the Raiders made 325. The home team made 38 missed tackles while their opponents only made 28.

North Queensland conceded nine penalties and made nine errors while Canberra conceded eight and made 12 errors.

Individual statistics:

Corey Horsburgh was the main metre eater for the Raiders as he reached a total of 178 running metres with 67 post-contact metres. Josh Papalii was next best with 147 followed by Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad on 126.

In the tackle count, Elliott Whitehead contributed with the most as he finished on 40. Hudson Young was next best on 35 followed by Corey Horsburgh on 34.
