The Raiders recorded a hard-fought 22-20 win over their rivals the Cronulla Sharks on a cold night at GIO Stadium.

The green machine managed to record 51% possession throughout the contest and completed 28/37 of their sets for a rate of 76%. The boys from the Shire could only complete 25/38 of their sets for a rate of 66%.

Canberra ran for a total of 1302 metres from 153 runs while Cronulla conjured up a total of 1254 running metres from 144 runs.

Round 14 Moment of the Week

In attack, the Raiders could only complete two offloads while their opponents managed a total of five. Both sides were able to make three line breaks each.

In defence, the Sharks were by far the busier of the two sides as they made 345 tackles compared to the Raiders 283. Ricky Stuart’s side missed a total of 33 tackles while Cronulla only recorded 22 missed tackles.

The home side kept their discipline for most of the match as they only conceded a total of seven penalties. The visitors, on the other hand, conceded a total of 10. Canberra also came out on top in the errors count as they only conceded 11 compared to Cronulla’s 14.

Individual Statistics:

Josh Papalii proved to be the metre eater for the green machine on Thursday night as he registered 184 running metres. Joseph Tapine was the next best on 111.

John Bateman and Bailey Simonsson led the way for the Raiders in tackle breaks as they both recorded four each.

In defence, Siliva Havili contributed with the most amount of tackles for the Raiders with 35.
