Jersey Flegg Preview: Raiders v Eels

The Canberra Raiders’ Jersey Flegg team will be hoping to get back to winning ways this weekend when they face the Parramatta Eels at Ringrose Park this Sunday.

The Raiders suffered their third loss in a row after going down to the Rabbitohs 28-12 last weekend in a game which the Green Machine dominated possession.

The Eels succumbed to their 8th loss of the season in round 15, going down to the Thunderbolts 26-22.

Raiders coach Ash Barnes said that despite the string of losses, his team are ready to go this weekend and must focus on themselves.

“There have been a few moments in the games that we haven’t been able to capitalise,” said Barnes. “It’s more about focusing on us and building up confidence in ourselves and our game.”

Barnes said that he’s also impressed with how far both Matthew Timoko and Harley Smith-Shields have come after their recent call-ups to the Mounties squad.

“That’s what we’re all about here at the Raiders,” said Barnes. “It’s about pushing those guys forward, and both players have been outstanding this season and it’s a great reward for them.”

Raiders' rookies stepped up when it mattered most: Stuart

The Raiders who currently sit in eighth place, will aim to start moving up the ladder against the 11th placed Eels this Sunday.
