The Tuggeranong Bushrangers have claimed victory against their Southside rivals after they claimed a 28-6 win against the Woden Valley Rams at Phillip District Oval.
The result marked the Bushrangers first win in this fixture for four matches, while the defeat sees Woden drop out of the top four.
The Tuggeranong Bushrangers started the match on the front foot as Wez Alexander opened the scoring in the seventh minute.
The game quickly turned into a grind but Ngarima Low made Woden pay for a knock on as the looked to attack Tuggeranong’s line. The fullback ran 80meters on the back of a scrum to extend the Bushranger s lead.
Mitch Souter caught Tuggeranong napping as he scored from dummy-half to get Woden on the board.
However, the Bushrangers scored another long range try as Connor Massen gathered a Brayden Robertson grubber to run the length of the field to score.
Mitchell slotted the conversion with ease and Tuggeranong went into the break with a 16-6 lead.
Tuggeranong continued their impressive form as Jarrad Kennedy found his way over the line shortly after the break.
Tuggeranong then furthered their lead ten minutes from time as Michael Brophy scored his first try of the season as his towering kick was gathered on the wing before being passed back in field.
