What were you doing when you were 20 years old?

It can be difficult to remember that Nick Cotric is still so young with three NRL seasons under his belt and 70 appearances for the Canberra Raiders to date.

Cotric relishing Kangaroos debut

The local junior continued his rise in 2019 as he was recognised at representative level as he debuted for the NSW Blues and later the Australian Kangaroos.

Starting the season in his regular position on the wing, Cotric moved into the centres for the Round 10 clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the wake of Joey Leilua’s injury.

Cotric started life in the centres with a bang as his damaging ball running saw him help set up a try for Sam Williams against Souths and assisting a spectacular try for Jordan Rapana against the Wests Tigers.

However, having played 59 out of 61 games to start his career Cotric faced adversity for the first time in his career after an ankle injury was followed by a three game suspension.

Once back on the field Cotric had a memorable end to the year as he played every game from Round 21 onwards. With Leilua back to full fitness, Cotric returned to the wing for the finals campaign as he helped the club reach the Grand Final.

Following the Grand Final, the 20 year old was picked in Mal Meninga’s Kangaroos side and played on the wing for the two tests against New Zealand and Tonga Invitational respectively.
