Injury Update: Bateman shoulder update

The Raiders can confirm John Bateman has had a good outcome on his most recent shoulder surgery.

Bateman has had successful surgery on his shoulder and is expected back this season.

Raiders Coach Ricky Stuart said the focus will be on getting John back on the field and make sure his rehab gets him back as soon as possible.

Stuart said he would not put a time frame on his potential return and would instead focus on getting him ready when the time was right.

Bateman is devastated by the setback, however, the England international is determined to work as hard as he can to get back on the field.

"I'm gutted to be having surgery again but it's what's best for me and the team and to help me get back on the field as soon as possible. I'll be working harder than ever with my rehab to get myself back on the field with the lads. See you all soon."

Meanwhile, Raiders forward Ryan Sutton should be fit for selection in round five, after battling a minor calf injury.

Sutton sustained the injury at training early last week and was close to being available for round four, but the coaching staff decided to give him another week to make sure he's 100% fit on his return.

Hudson Young has two matches remaining on his current suspension.

George Williams remains grounded after star showing
