Wighton recognised at Dreamtime Awards

Jack Wighton has been recognised for his outstanding achievements throughout 2020 by taking out the Sportsman of the Year award at the annual Dreamtime Awards night.

The awards caps off a stellar year for the Canberra Raiders five-eighth, who also claimed the Dally M Medal and Meninga Medal.

Wighton, who is from the Wiradjuri nation, helped the Raiders reach a third preliminary final in five years with 13 tries and eight try assists to his name.

The Dreamtime Awards is an opportunity for First Nation people from across the country to come together and recognise excellence across a number of different categories.

Wighton is also expected to line up for Indigenous All-Stars as they play the Maori All-Stars in Townsville on February 20, 2021.
