Junior Reps Round 1 Wrap

The Junior Representative season got underway last Saturday as the Canberra Raiders played the Cronulla Sharks in all three grades.

Tarsha Gale Cup

The Canberra Raiders and Cronulla Sharks played out a hard fought encounter which eventually saw the visitors claim a 16-12 win.

The sides traded tries in the first half with halfback Makayla Morris scoring for the Raiders.

Captain Krystal Blackwell scored the Raiders only try in the second half, while Morris also kicked a penalty to give the Raiders a two-point lead.

However, the Sharks bounced back and scored a late try to claim the victory.

Harold Matthews Cup

The Canberra Raiders started brightly but ultimately suffered defeat against the Cronulla Sharks.

Siamani Leuluai scored the Raiders only try in the eighth minute but an Osca Catton double helped the Sharks claim the win.

The Sharks edged their way in front at the halftime interval before a further three tries sealed the 24 point win.

S.G. Ball Cup

The Canberra Raiders claimed a tense win against the Cronulla Sharks to begin their season on the right foot.

Raiders hooker Toby Thorburn broke the deadlock in the 28th minute before Jack Sandford scored an excellent solo try minutes later.

The second half saw the Sharks storm into contention as they scored a flurry of tries and the Raiders had a player sent to the sin bin. 

A double to Raiders winger Livai Kaloutolu kept the teams within touching distance before prop Jayden Clarkson sealed the win for the Raiders with a try.
