Monaro Open Men's grand final preview

The Monaro Open Men’s side take on the Illawarra South Coast Dragons in the Country Championships grand final this weekend.

Monaro have been in strong form, remaining undefeated throughout the competition.

They recorded an exciting 18-10 win over the Central Coast Roosters in last week’s semi-final to book a place in the decider.

Five-eighth and coach Terry Campese continues to lead the team well around the park, while the forward pack lay a solid platform.

An injury to centre Jake Wheeler in the semi-final has meant a reshuffle of the backline. Tristan Eldridge has been named to start at fullback, with Jake Butler-Fleming moving to the wing and Aisea Taholo coming in at centre.

Monaro take on the Illawarra South Coast Dragons, who defeated the Riverina Bulls 24-16 in last week’s match to reach the grand final.

The Country Championships grand final kicks off on Saturday 27 March at 2:30pm at H.E Laybutt Sporting Complex in Blacktown.

The Andrew Johns Cup and Laurie Daley Cup grand finals are also being played at the same venue on Saturday, kicking off at 11am and 12:40pm respectively.

All three games will be live-streamed via NSWRL TV , available on the NSWRL Facebook page.
